Dimapur, April 30 (EMN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) of 39 Sanis assembly constituency (AC) has resolved and reaffirmed to make all efforts and strive towards strengthening the party at the grassroots including all the assembly constituencies under NDPP Wokha region.

The resolution to this effect was taken during its party workers meeting-cum-picnic of NDPP 39 Sanis AC at Chubi Island, Doyang Hydro Project, in Wokha district on April 29, an update from NDPP Wokha media cell stated.

The house has also congratulated and endorsed its cooperation and support to the new team of NDPP Wokha region led by its president, John Ezung, and all the frontals for the tenure 2021–2024. It also resolved to stand united, strive and work to ensure the thumping victory of Mhathung Yanthan, the lone NDPP legislator from Wokha district, in the ensuing elections 2023 including other party candidates from the district.

Reiterating the commitment of NDPP towards finding an honorable and acceptable solution to the Indo-Naga political issue, the house has supported the ongoing peace talks and appealed to the negotiating parties to expedite the talks and bring about an early solution that is honourable, inclusive and acceptable. It also appealed to all political groups to heed to the call of the Naga people and come together under the spirit of unity, brotherhood and cooperation.

The house also appreciated and welcomed the UDA government for its decision to hold ULB elections with 30% reservation for women in Nagaland. The house further affirmed unflinching support to the leadership of the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, and the party president, Chingwang Konyak.

Speaking on the occasion, the advisor of Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan, encouraged the party workers to rededicate themselves and put more effort towards strengthening the party. He also sought opinions and suggestions toward the welfare of the party in particular and the people in general.

While reminding the party workers of the uncertainty of holding the upcoming elections due to the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks, he however informed them to be prepared for any outcome. Should the election be held next year, he expressed confidence that NDPP would form the government again.

All the villages under 39 AC submitted the progress of the NDPP party during the meeting.
