Dukh 2, a much anticipated movie both by Nagamese movie fans and film fraternity of Nagaland, was released on Sunday (February 14) at Book Marc Conference Hall, Dimapur, by the Advisor of NBDA & NEPED, Naiba Konyak as the chief guest.
Releasing the movie in the presence of the cast and crew members, Naiba Konyak remarked that such venture was something unheard of the Konyak community. He, however, said the community, especially the younger generation, have made things possible with grit and elan. He stated that such initiative and venture was an adventurous move adding determination should be assimilated by the younger generations.
Mentioning on the music industry scenario of the state, Naiba articulated that music industry has been growing to a greater height. Stating that film industry in the State has a long way to go, Naiba Konyak said the government is taking initiative to frame policies to encourage the sector. Naiba termed the occasion ‘significant’ for the film industry of Nagaland with the release of a new movie. He further encouraged the movie production fraternity to follow their vision with determination.
Guest of honor, Saku Longchar of Samaro fame exhorted the film fraternity to value teamwork which is an integral part for any organization. Director of Dukh 2 and noted actor, Meren Ozukum, who is famously known as boss Meren lamented that film industry in the State is still yet to take the shot even after 20 years because of the non-availability of facilities. “Nagamese movies are not appreciated by the larger section as we are also not able to deliver quality show mainly because of the lack of basic services,” rued Meren. He said Nagamese films could grow and reach to larger audience if the government can look into the problems faced by film industry in the State.
A film by Julie C Film production, Dukh 2 is directed by Meren Ozukum, videography and editing by Anyao Konyak and produced by Neangbah Konyak.
