Nagaland: Law students seek written assurance from NU
Dimapur, Oct. 2 (EMN): City Law College Students’ Union (CLCSU), Dimapur, has sought assurance in writing from the Nagaland University (NU) to take care of the medical expenses and compensate in case of outbreak of Covid-19 disease among the students while appearing for the forthcoming offline examination.
In a memorandum to NU vice chancellor, the union has sought his intervention as the Covid-19 cases have risen exponentially over the past few days in Nagaland.
The University Grant Commission (UGC) has decided to hold semester exams amid the Covid-19 pandemic by October 1 in either fully offline (pen and paper), fully online or blended (offline + online) mode.
As the nation swung into combating the Covid-19 pandemic, the union has appreciated the management and faculties for trying their best to help out the students to progress in this peculiar situation. It has, however, pointed out other various threats and difficulties confronting the students in this unprecedented situation of pandemic.
Considering the seriousness of the pandemic, it has requested the vice chancellor to give them written assurance by October 4 before 12 noon so that the students may sit in the exam without fear.
It further warned that failure to comply with its request would compel the union to take its own course of action.
