Nagaland CM mourns demise of Naga Mothers’ Association founding member
Dimapur, July 31 (EMN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) founding member Alhouii Albina Dzuvichn, 93, who passed away on July 29.
Rio stated that Dzuvichii was a social and religious pioneer amongst the Naga women with many ‘firsts’ to her credit including founder member of NMA, first woman Area Council Member, first woman member of the Angami Public Organisation, first president of the Nagaland Catholic Women Association, first president of the Angami Catholic Women Organisation, and advisor of Angami Women Organisation, amongst others.
“She was also actively involved in the political sphere and served as an advisor to the Naga People’s Front women’s wing, being closely associated with regional party since its inception. For her immense contribution and service to society, she was honoured with the Distinguish Senior Citizen Award by the Department of Social Welfare on the occasion of International Day of Older persons in 2020,” read the condolence message to children of the deceased.
“Her death is an immeasurable loss to the Naga people as well as her family members. My wife joins me in conveying our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members. It is our humble prayer that Almighty God will give them strength and courage to bear the irreparable loss,” it added.
“May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” he wrote.
