Violation of the provisions mentioned in the SOPs framed for various events and activities will attract legal action
Dimapur, March 19 (EMN): The government of Nagaland on Friday announced that events that attract big crowds like sports, religious functions and entertainment programmes will be allowed to open outside the containment zones with 100% seating capacity with immediate effect, provided standard operating procedures (SOPs) are strictly adhered to.
An order issued by the chief secretary of the state stated that exhibitions, trade fairs, fairs and swimming pools can be opened subject to strict adherence to the SOPs issued by the government.
Theatres, multiplexes, cinema halls as well as social functions – academic, sports (both outdoor and indoor), entertainment, cultural, political and religious – have also been allowed to open with 100% seating capacity.
However, the authorities have issued several precautionary measures like wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing, provision of thermal screening and use of hand wash or sanitiser to be followed to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Persons above 65 years of age, those with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below 10 are advised to stay at home except for essential and health purposes.
The order warned that violation of the provisions mentioned in its elaborate SOPs framed for various events and activities will attract legal action.
