Dimapur, March 28 (EMN): Minister for Rural Development, Metsubo Jamir inaugurated the new office building of block development officer, Wokha on Monday at Project Colony, Wokha.
Addressing the inaugural function, Jamir said the department of Rural Development has been ‘consistently working for the welfare of the rural people over the years’, an update from DIPR informed. He urged the people to extend their cooperation and support to the Government and the department to bring about more developmental programmes for the benefit of the rural population.
He also urged everyone to respect the institution of Village Development Board (VDB) since all development works and programmes are implemented through it.
The Minister also appealed to the village functionaries to ‘focus more on economic activities like agriculture and other allied activities as Wokha district is blessed with rich resources.’
ADC Wokha, LankonsenTsanglao thanked the department for providing the BDO office with a new building. He also appealed to the village functionaries to work with sincerity, dedication and proper implementation of schemes and policies to bring about change and development in their respective villages.
Director of Rural Development, Liboni Humtsoe also appealed to all the BDO and staff to work with commitment and sincerity for better performance in all their assigned responsibilities.
