Dimapur, Feb. 20 (EMN): The minister for Higher and Technical Education, Temjen Imna Along paid a visit to Pfutsero Government College on February 19 and interacted with students and faculty staff of the college. Members of the Alumni Association, Parent Teacher Association and others attended the function, which was conducted in the college’s auditorium, updates stated on Wednesday.
Before addressing the gathering, he requested all to observe a minute of silence to pay homage to 40 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack, updates on Wednesday stated. In his message to the gathering, the minister urged the members to “build a humane spirit where there is unity and zeal to develop and prosper in every aspect of life.” Also, he said there is no success where there is no struggles, updates stated.
Along encouraged the students to respect the law, honour the system and be responsible persons of the society “where having an integrity of accepting some one’s fault and yet forgiving to see a better tomorrow.”
The minister called upon the students to be “leaders of tomorrow and build a tolerant society that works hard in one spirit and unity,” updates on Wednesday stated.
Further, the minister was stated to have assured to contribute one month’s salary to the students’ welfare and the college.
Besides, he also made a “generous financial contribution towards the college journal subscription and promised to provide a smart board for smart classroom.”
The minister met with the faculty staff and assured to support the college for NAAC Assessment, it was informed. He was said to have visited the college’s library, staffroom, establishment section, classrooms, computer section and other amenities.
