Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): Advisor of Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthung, inaugurated the sub-divisional horticulture office in Pfutsero town under Phek district on August 17.
Speaking on the occasion, Yanthung stated the people of Pfutsero deserved the new establishment as the area has great potential in horticulture activities. He has termed as ‘fortunate’ that the sub-divisional horticulture office was created in Pfutsero to serve the people better and also to look into the welfare of the farmers. He expressed hope that department would help in the uplift of the economy, stated a DIPR report.
The advisor informed that the state government is giving special focus on agriculture and allied activities to improve the welfare of the farmers and make Nagaland a vibrant economy. He also informed that the department of Horticulture has established eleven sub-divisional horticulture offices in the state.
Short speeches were delivered by the additional director of Horticulture, Y Bongti Konyak, and the convener of Pfutsero Town Welfare Committee, Mezelo Lomi.
The welcome address was delivered by DHO Phek, Senkalemba P, while the vote of thanks was delivered by SDHO of Pfutsero officer in-charge, Kelhouzakie Chielie.
The programme was chaired by EAC of Pfutsero, Dr. Riku Khutso, while the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by senior pastor of PTBC, Rev. Dr. Neingupe Chiero.
