Dimapur, Aug. 17 (EMN): Peeved over the slow pace of work in the construction of foothill road, the Young Naga Action Committee on Foothills Road (YNACFR) has threatened to initiate its own course of action as deemed fit if the matter was not addressed within 30 day (September 15).

YNACFR, comprising of students and youth of 13 affected tribes formed under the aegis of Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), has issued this statement having observed the lackadaisical attitude of the state government despite repeated appeals to complete the foothill road connectivity, which is the ‘lifeline’ for the people of Nagaland.

It stated that despite the onset of the summer season, most contractors have completed 80% of the work which was highly appreciated. As per the meeting conveyed by the office of the chief engineer PWD (R&B) on July 22, 2022, the pending bills are to be released as per the work completed.

“The contractors pending bills have not been released till date, without which the project will not progress and be completed as per the stipulated time for the motorable road set by the NFHRCC,” the statement read.

In the light of the above stated circumstances, YNACFH has threatened to initiate its own course of action if the matter was not addressed within a period of 30 days.
