DIMAPUR — The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Tuensang held its monthly meeting on October 7 at the DC conference hall, Tuensang town, with Thungchanbemo Tungoe, ADC Tuensang, presiding as chairman.

According to a DIPR report, the board discussed the establishment of police outposts in various locations, including Sangsangnyu EAC, New Chingmei EAC, and Ngongchung EAC.

The board members reviewed this proposal and decided to send it to the appropriate department for further review. The outcome will be presented at the next planning meeting.

During the meeting, the issue of issuing patta (land title) for government land to private parties was also discussed. The chairman emphasised that heads of offices should refrain from issuing NOCs to private parties for construction on government properties and quarters.

The DLSRO of Tuensang provided additional insight into the matter, stating that the departments have yet to survey nearly 50% of government properties. He urged the concerned departments that have not yet submitted their surveys to do so promptly.

The meeting also welcomed three members: Tingbem Thowsong, SDPO Tuensang; S Kavito Aomi, assistant director of food and civil supplies, Tuensang; and Lipongse Sangtam, district employment officer.

SDPDB Pughoboto: The monthly Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) Pughoboto meeting was held on October 6 at the DB hall, Pughoboto town.

According to a DIPR report, Tiameren Chang, ADC and vice chairman of SDPDB Pughoboto, brought attention to the road clearance between Lazami and Mishilmi villages on the occasion, emphasising its importance to the local community.

The meeting also addressed the issue of constructing a conference hall in Pughoboto town, as well as plans for celebrating the golden jubilee of Zunheboto district.

The ADC urged officials to nominate deserving candidates for the Governor’s Awards, highlighting the importance of recognising and honouring individuals who have made significant contributions to society.

Another important point of discussion was the upcoming inter-departmental sports meet.

During the meeting, the senior medical officer of CHC Pughoboto presented a PowerPoint presentation on the operation and activities of the Health and Family Welfare department within the Pughoboto sub-division, providing insights into healthcare services in the area.

DPDB Wokha and SDPDB Bhandari: The monthly meeting of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Wokha was convened jointly with the newly inaugurated Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) Bhandari at Town Hall, Bhandari, on October 5.

According to a DIPR report, a comprehensive review of aspirational villages was conducted during the meeting, and departmental officers under the Wokha district presented micro-action plans related to these villages.

Mhathung Yanthan, Advisor for Agriculture and chairman of DPDB Wokha, advised the concerned departments on the occasion to prioritise the development of the four villages and emphasised the importance of officers visiting these villages to gain firsthand knowledge and to create awareness among the people about government policies and schemes.

The meeting also discussed matters concerning the Lakhuti Education Foundation and resolved to forward a proposal for the registration of the foundation under the Society Registration Act.

Yanthan proposed raising funds for the upcoming 21st All Nagaland College Students’ Union biennial conference, which will be hosted by Mount Tiyi College, Wokha, from October 25 to 27, through contributions from well-wishers, while assuring that the four legislators of the district would also offer their support.

Ajit Kumar Ranjan, DC Wokha, reminded the gathering in his speech that all government employees should provide logistical support for the upcoming golden jubilee of the district, which is scheduled for December of this year.

Achumbemo Kikon, MLA and chairman of SDPDB Bhandari, proposed the construction of SDPDB meeting hall at Bhandari as a priority and underscored the importance of establishing at least one college within the Bhandari sub-division.
