Dimapur, October 4 : The Eastern Naga College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has announced agitations from October 5 to force the state government to fulfil the group’s demand for allocation of four MBBS seats ‘reserved for BTs.’ “The agitation will resume at 00:00 hour on 5th Oct’ 2016. However, all the emergency services, security forces, magistrate on duty and the students appearing end semester exam are exempted from the prohibition,” a press release from the union on Tuesday stated.
The organisation listed out a number of complaints that the union implied were negative to their expectation of good response from the authorities since the agitations began. ‘ENCSU is also miffed by the action of the government and the department for failing to communicate officially with the ENCSU the outcome of the Cabinet meeting held on 26th September 2016 where the decision was taken to allocate 4 BDS seats in place of MBBS seats,” the union cited as an instance. “The ENCSU has every right now to term the present government as a failed government for failing to rectify the misdeeds of the department and also for failing to even communicate the decision.”
