Dimapur, May 9 (EMN): The district election officer of Dimapur, Sushil Kumar Patel, has informed that with the announcement of bye-election to the Nagaland Parliamentary Assembly Constituency, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force with immediate effect till the completion of the bye-election and shall be applicable to all candidates, political parties and to the union and state government.
DEO informed that the standing committee for operation of MCC at district level has been instituted with ADC Dimapur Sara S Jamir as chairperson and Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinese Chakhesang, DPRO Dimapur Lolano; representatives of all registered national and state political parties as members; and AEO Dimapur Roland Merry as member secretary.
Also, the Media Certification & Monitoring Committee (MCMC) for Dimapur district has been instituted with DEO as chairman, news editor, DD News Dimapur and journalist, and Nagaland Post as members and DPRO Dimapur as member secretary.
