Manipur soon to get Imphal-Mandalay bus

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he much hypes bus service between Imphal (India) and Mandalay (Myanmar) will soon become a reality.
This was disclosed by Manipur chief minister O Ibobi Singh while inaugurating the Asian Development Bank funded road in Ukhrul district of Manipur.
The work for the Thoubal to Kasom Khullen via Yairipok has been inaugurated funded by the Asiab Bank Development. The chief minister also opened the new office of Kasom Khullen sub divisional officer (SDO.BDO).
Speaking on the occasion, O Ibobi Singh said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed soon between concerned authorities for the starting of the Imphal-Mandalay bus service which is part of the Look East Police of the government of India.
Meanwhile, the chief minister said his government has been taking development works in both the hills and the valley on equal footing. He said the development works should not be based on remote or urban areas.Explaining on the memorandum submitted by the people of Kasom Khullen that the Thoubal-Kasom Khullen road funded by the Asian Development Bank should reach Khonglo village, Ibobi Singh said that since the ADB funding is to construct the road upto Kasom Khullen he needs to consult the DoNER ministry in this regard.
Ibobi then assured to construct a community hall and a guest house at Nambasi Loton village.
Today’s visit of the chief minister was accompanied by Works minister Kh Ratankumar, Parliamentary Secretary Victor Keishing, Works principal secretary Ram Muivah, officials of the Asian Development Bank and the deputy commissioner of Ukhrul.
