Manipur emerge champion of National Masters Athletics Championship

Imphal, Feb. 14 (EMN): Host Manipur emerged overall champions of the 41st National Masters Athletics Championship at the Khuman Lampak main stadium in Imphal on Friday, February 14.

Manipur secured a total of 777 points with Assam bagging the runner-up title with 667 points while Tamil Nadu was adjudged the third position with 405 points.

Manipur bagged the team champion’s title in women’s category with 454 points while Assam stood first in men’s category. Around 4000 athletes from 27 states and Union Territories vied for a total of 250 medals in the championship which started on February 10. The championship was organised by the Manipur Master Athletics Association under the aegis of Master Athletics Federation of India.
