Manipur body builders bags Mr India title

All Manipur Body Builders Association welcoming the Body Builders and officials of Manipur Team on their arrival at Imphal International Airport on Monday.

IMPHAL — Bodybuilder Maradona Kshetrimayum, who was crowned Senior Mr. Manipur title in 2021, bagged Mr. India title in 90kg category in the 15th Mr. India 2024 – Senior Men’s and Women’s Body Building National Championship held at Ludhiana (Punjab) from Match 16 to the 17th.

General Secretary of Al Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA) Yumlembam Sunanta updated this in a press release on Monday, crediting it to the players and their families for bringing laurels to the state amid the ongoing crisis.

‘It is a proud moment of the state that Manipur team won Team Champion (Women) and 1st Runner-Up Team Champion (Men) in this championship, besides two Mr India titles (two Gold Medals), one silver medal and one bronze medal,’ he updated.

The gold medal winning bodybuilders are 29-year-old Kshetrimayum of Muscle Factory, Kakching, and Engudam Kavita Chanu (Women’s 55+kg) of Friends Fitness Gym Tera, while Neta Singh Laishram (Men’s 60 kg) of Building United Gym, Naoremthong won silver and Thokchom Sanjeeta (Women’s 55 kg) of World Gym, Yaiskul won bronze.

A total of 390 athletes from 32 states/units from across India including Railways, Services, Revenue Board etc. participated in the championship, it was informed.

Manipur Team was led by Sh Sanathoi Singh as team manager, RK Manisana Singh as team coach and overall team in-charge was President (AMBBA) N Ratan Singh.
