Imphal, Oct. 23 (EMN): The Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh, has suspended former MLA Laishram Radhakishore Singh from the primary membership of the party for a period of six years.

The suspension order issued by BJP Manipur president, A Sharda Devi, dated October 20, 2022, stated that Radhakishore has been suspended for violation of the party’s rules and regulations under Article XXV of the party’s constitution.

The specific reason for suspension of the former MLA of Oinam assembly constituency in Manipur’s Bishnupur district was not mentioned clearly in the order.

However, insiders familiar with the development suspected an internal tussle following a recent petition by the former MLA challenging a government order over the appointment of a sitting MLA as new chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board (MPCB).

It may be mentioned that Radhakishore was appointed chairman of the board in 2017.
