Manipur assembly speaker reconstitutes BAC after Governor summons assembly

Imphal, Jan. 17 (EMN): The Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thpkchom Satyabrata Singh on Tuesday reconstituted the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of Manipur Legislative Assembly to discuss the time allocation of the business of the house for the ensuing 3rd session of the 12th Manipur assembly.

Secretary K Meghajit Singh of Manipur Legislative Assembly issued a notification in this regard on Monday.

Satyabrata Singh is the chairman of the 7-member BAC while Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, former chief minister and opposition leader O Ibobi Singh, MLAs Awangbow Newmai, Th Basantakumar Singh, Abdul Nasir and N Kayisii are the members of the BAC.

With the reconstitution of the BAC, a meeting of the BAC will be held at 2 pm on January 20 at the office chamber of Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly to discuss the time allocation of the business of the house for ensuing 3rd session of the 12th Manipur assembly, according to another notification issued by Secretary K Meghajit Singh of Assembly.

It may be mentioned that Manipur Governor La Ganesan had summoned the 3rd session of the twelfth Manipur Legislative Assembly on February 2, 2023 in the Assembly hall in Imphal.

Ganesan has summoned the state assembly in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (1) of Article 174 of the constitution of India.
