Make Tseminyu a model district–MLA Jwenga

Dimapur, June 30 (EMN): MLA and chairman of Tseminyu district planning and development board (DPDB), Jwenga Seb, has called upon the Rengma community to stand united and work cohesively and make Tseminyu a model district.

Speaking at the general session of the Rengma Hoho on June 29 in Tseminyu town, Jwenga Seb, who was the guest of honour, urged upon the Rengma community to work in unity for the uplift of every member by ensuring equal access to education, healthcare, infrastructure and employment opportunities.

He also advocated empowering the youth, support the women and value the wisdom and experience of the elders, an update from Rengma Hoho stated.

He has described Rengma Hoho as a symbol of hope, progress and community service. He further urged upon the Rengma people to come together by leaving aside all the differences to make Tseminyu a model district.  

In the second session, Kenilo Apon, commissioner and secretary of Urban and Municipal Affairs, spoke on “The village customary practices and the missing links,” while Dr. Joshua Lorin, principal of Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS), spoke on “The assembly election reformation: its impact now and then.”

It stated that Dr. Joshua Lorin has encouraged the gathering to strongly uphold the principle of clean election campaign, which was launched by NBCC.

Noting that so many positive changes are taking place through the clean election campaign, he encouraged the Naga people as a whole not to be discouraged by the slow process of the ‘change.’

He further impressed upon the gathering ‘To tell the truth, fight for the truth, and stand for the truth.’

Report stated that a new team of office bearers of the Rengma Hoho was also installed during the general session led by Tesinlo Semy as president and Shatilo Kent as general secretary.
