Local artistes captivate music lovers in Mokokchung

Mokokchung surely is a land of music and musicians. Talented local artistes took the stage and enthralled near 5,000 music aficionados till late evening during the ‘We Care IV’, the most acclaimed concert in Mokokchung, on Thursday evening. The event held at Imkongmeren Sports Complex was organised by Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM).
Parliamentary Secretary for Land Resources, Excise and Natural Calamities BS Nganlang was the chief guest on the occasion. The main objective of the concert was to raise funds for Mokokchung Law College. The funds were to be collected through the sale of concert tickets and a raffle draw.
The chief guest, in his address, acknowledged the efforts of the AKM for initiating this noble cause and applauded it for carrying out such activities.
Noting that Aos have been leaders in “multi-disciplinary” activities, he wished that this legacy of the Aos will continue in leading the
Nagas. He further expressed his hope that this leadership of the Aos in every field will not stop.

The concert started with cheers by the crowd as the popular Ao band Samaro sung the AKM theme song. The Lenjeter, an Ao local band, also enthralled audience with local hit numbers.

Young female artistes Imnasenla Aier, Ayusangla, former Miss Mokokchung 2015 and Yangerjungla, former Miss Mokokchung and Miss Nagaland runner-up took the stage and sang some hit songs.
With the audience wanting to sing along with the singers, the bands – Infuse, Tune up Channel, Beyond Sunday and guest band Incipit – took the stage and picked up the tempo and satisfied the music thirsty audience with their satirical numbers.
