Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): Combined team of the Kiphire district administration and medical department carried out a sensitisation drive on Covid vaccine for leaders of Amahator area at the office of the extra assistant commissioner (EAC) in Amahator town on June 19.
The team was led by EAC, Chumben Murry, from the district administration and Dr. K Pewezo Khalo, DPO (RCH/UIP), from chief medical officer’s (CMO) office, Kiphire, an update from the CMO’s office stated.
It stated that Chumben Murry has apprised the leaders about the purpose of the meeting. Informing about the poor coverage of vaccination in the district, he urged the public to come forward and get the vaccine.
Meanwhile, Dr. K Pewezo Khalo has sensitised the leaders about the vaccine by emphasising on the importance of preventing the novel coronavirus together saying prevention is the only cure for which Covid vaccine is the only solution.
Terming the rumours doing the rounds about the vaccine as all lies, he stated that the vaccine was introduced after numerous experiments. He encouraged the village leaders to set good examples to the villagers in order to protect the villages from the disease and accept the vaccine without any hesitation.
It mentioned that the leaders have raised questions regarding the Covid vaccine which were clarified by doctors. The leaders have expressed gratitude to the team for organising such a sensitisation drive and assured to convey the message about the benefits and efficacy of the vaccine in their villages.
