Dimapur, June 19 (EMN): Celebrating the birth anniversary of former AICC president Rahul Gandhi, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) distributed ration to needy persons in Dimapur and Kohima.
An update from the NPCC stated that Rahul decided not to celebrate his birthday again in view of second wave Covid-19 pandemic and extraordinary difficulties faced by the people. He has requested those, who have planned to celebrate the occasion, to avoid ostentatious activities but instead urged everyone to observe austerity measures and use resources to help those in need and those whose life and livelihood got impaired in the second wave.
It stated a brief function was held at the District Congress Committee’s (DCC) office, Dimapur where NPCC president K Therie exhorted the small gathering in accordance with prevailing SOPs.
After the function, five teams including DCC Dimapur, NSUI Nagaland and NPC minority department moved to different locations of Dimapur town area to distribute ration to needy people.
In state capital Kohima, PCC and DCC office bearers along with Nagaland Pradesh Youth Congress (NPYC) carried out social work around Congress Bhavan area and later distributed ration to deserving people across different wards of the capital town.
