KBYO games & sports meet underway

Kohima, Dec. 6 (EMN): The 51st games and sports meet of Khulazu Basa Youth Organisation (KBYO) got underway on Tuesday at Khulazu Basa local ground in Phek district.

Kudecho Khamo, president of Nagaland Wushu Association (NWA) and intending candidate 18 Chozuba A/C, graced the inaugural ceremony as special guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Khamo called upon the youth to actively involve in the field of games and sports.

Maintaining that games and sports have been gaining popularity in the modern society, he challenged the sports lovers to focus on professionalism to compete with the rest of the world.

He maintained that the cash incentives extended by the Chief Minister to the medal winners of Nagaland team at the recently concluded 2nd North East Olympic Games 2022, have been received well by many.

Nagaland registered huge improvement in the field of sports, which was reflected at the North East Olympic Games 2022 by winning 79 medals, Khamo said.

Stating that youth are the strength and pride of the village, he challenged them to exercise positive attitude and be an asset to the community.

“You have to contribute for the betterment of the society,” he said and at the same time asked them to be ambassadors for unity and peaceful society.

Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) general secretary Seve R. Vadeo in his greeting message, called upon the youth to make the best use of their talents and bring pride and glory to the community.

Zavepra Puro, president Chokri Area Games & Sports Association also exhorted the youth.
