Medotseilieü Kiewhuo releasing the KBC Sunday School department jubilee souvenir magazine in Kohima on Saturday.

DIMAPUR — The Sunday School department of Koinonia Baptist Church celebrated its silver jubilee (1998-2023) on Saturday at its main church at Kezieke on the theme “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6).

An update from the church stated that Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo, founder pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church, was the main speaker. He encouraged the children to be trained up in the likeness of Christ so that they would be trusted by others.

Expounding on the jubilee theme, he stated that Sunday school is the foundational stage to impart teaching of the Bible for children to become a good citizen. Citing biblical characters like Samuel, Joseph, Moses, who became great leaders and did not go stray away from what was taught in childhood, he stated that all children should be like them and grow up in the right way.

Quoting from Luke 2: 52, he pointed out that children should grow up socially, mentally, physically and spiritually trained and disciplined. He added that spiritual growth is the most important of all.

He further stated that prayer and having burden to save lost souls should be the main focus in growing spiritually to maturity.

The service was led by H Rokopra Mekro, assistant pastor of Koinonia Prayer Centre, and Khrieketouzo Haralu, president of Pesocha Baptist Church Council Nhicuko Krotho, shared greetings. The scripture was read by Medovinuo Thong, KBCSS treasurer.

Special praises were presented by beginners and toddlers class, junior class, intermediate class, primary class, Koinonia Prayer Centre Sunday school children and jubilee proclamation youth choir.

The jubilee souvenir magazine was released by Medotseilieü Kiewhuo, pastor of Koinonia Baptist Church, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Belinda Kiewhuo, KBCSS superintendent.

The jubilee monolith was unveiled by Rev. Zotuo Kiewhuo.
