Dimapur, Sep. 30 (EMN): With the expiry of stipulated two months judicial inquiry commission to submit its report on Municipal Act, Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) has appealed the Cabinet Sub Committee for a joint meeting with JCC/NTAC at the earliest so as not to create misunderstanding between the government and JCC/NTAC in which the tribal hohos were empowered to spearhead the Nagaland Municipal Act issue.

JCC made this appeal following its meeting on September 30 in Dimapur in which it deliberated on certain issues at hand. It mentioned that a time frame of two months was given to the State government to revoke the resolution of November 24, 2016, in regard to Municipal Act.

With no headway and action been initiated since the constitution of the Nagaland Municipal Act Review Committee on August 21, 2017, for amendment of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2001 and pass an appropriate bill for the larger interest of the Nagas, JCC has appealed to the Cabinet Sub Committee to have a joint meeting with JCC/NTAC at the earliest.

This was stated in a press release issued by JCC press and information secretary, Vecüto Tenenu.
