Dimapur, April 18 (EMN): Three student bodies in Peren district namely the All Nchangram Students’ Union (ANSU), Zeme Students’ Union Nagaland (ZSUN) and Tening Students’ Union (TSU) have threatened to execute its volitional course of action in protest against the failure of the concerned department to dispense concrete assurance.

The three student bodies had submitted an ultimatum to the concerned authority on March 14 demanding for urgent black topping of the road from Old Peren to Tening within one month. It however expressed dissatisfaction over the failure to dispense concrete assurance from the department of Public Work (PWD) towards their genuine demand.

It, therefore, stated that the unions would not hesitate to execute their volitional course of action instantly after the ongoing closure of government offices and vehicles in Peren is called off spearheaded by the United Zeliangrong Youth Federation.

The unions have requested various civic organisations, students’ forums, youth organisations and leaders to render their unwavering support and cooperation to materialise their demand in the true spirit of democracy as enshrined in Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, which allows right to have reasonably good footpaths and roads as a fundamental right of the citizens.

It added that the execution of a peaceful and democratic course of action would be made known to the respective presidents of students’ forums/ youth organisations falling within the ambit of Peren-Tening. It further cautioned that anyone found infringing the joint unions’ directive would be proportionately awarded a befitting outcome once the execution proceeding is fully enforced.
