Immanuel College holds one-day cultural programme

Dimapur, April 11 (EMN): The departments of History and Political Science of Immanuel College, jointly organised a one-day cultural programme on the theme “Revisiting the Roots” on Monday.

Talichuba Walling, HOD, Political Science, while highlighting the objective of the programme said that Nagas were admired for their rich repertory of folk dances and songs. In order to encourage the students, he said the programme had been organised to showcase the culture and traditions for inter-tribal cultural interaction and bringing together the cultural diversity of the various tribes under one umbrella.

The students presented cultural items of various tribes which included cultural dances, a play called Kongliang, folk songs and a drama with colourful attire.

The programme was chaired by D Sophia Besa, Assistant Professor, Department of History and vote of thanks was proposed by Loli Athisi, Dean and Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science.
