Hundreds pay last tributes to Rev. Lano Longchar

MOKOKCHUNG, JUNE 21: Late Lano Longchar, well known for revival crusades and bringing countless lives to Christian faith was paid rich tributes at his funeral service in Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung today.
The funeral service was attended by hundreds of people from all walks of life both from within and outside state.
Family members, officials and delegates from International Evangelistic Fellowship, NBCC & ABAM, Longkum Theological Fellowship, Longchar Clan, Aongza Yimten and Longkhum Union, Mokokchung town and friends paid their last homage and delivered their farewell speeches to the departed soul.
The International Evangelistic Fellowship also gave late Rev Lano Longchar the title- “The Anointed Prophet of Gospel” for his noble cause and dedication to preach the Gospel.
Various speakers at the funeral described late Lano Longchar as a true King’s messenger for his deeds and service to God till his last breath.
Temsuwati, Associate Pastor, Mokokchung Town Baptist Church who chaired the service read out the condolence messages to the bereaved family received from various leaders and church associations.
After the funeral service, the mortal remains of Longchar was taken to Mokokchung Town Baptist Church where another funeral service was held and later taken to his native village Longkhum for burial.
Meanwhile, condolence messages continued to pour in from various quarters.
Nagaland Missions Movement/NBCC Director, Rev. Andrew Semp said,” We have no words to express our deepest sorrow. In your going, we have lost an honest, committed and a true spiritual leader. Yes, Heaven will be rejoicing today in your coming but we deeply mourn your departure.”
Mao Baptist Churches Association Executive Secretary Rev. K. Koda said, “Death can never take a good man away, for in the hearts of the people he inspired and made an impact, the legacy remains. He has been a blessing and inspiration to our people.”
Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Minister P. Longon said, “His demise is a great loss to the Nagas, especially to the Khiamniungan community, among whom he was a popular spiritual leader, whose preaching still alive in their minds.”
