Dimapur, Sep. 16 (EMN): The Nagaland Gaon Bura Federation (NGBF) on Friday submitted a representation to BJP President JP Nadda, who was in the state on a two-day visit, urging the saffron party to honour its commitment made to the people of Nagaland before the 2018 assembly polls.
The federation stated that the 2018 Nagaland assembly election was conducted without any hindrances because of “Election for Solution” assurance by the BJP in-charge of Nagaland Ram Madhav but the term of the present government will end by March 2023. So, it told the BJP chief that it expect the party to honour its commitment without fail.
The NGBF went on say that whatever was agreed upon on 31 October 2019 should be translated into an agreement and enforced with immediate effect.
“The elections should be conducted only for the legally constituted legislature of Nagaland as per the settlement reached. It has been agreed by the Government of India that all pending matters would be resolved through democratic process after the political solution is settled so far. We assure you a peaceful and congenial environment for transition,” read the representation.
