Home department workshop trains support staff on office procedures, etiquette
DIMAPUR — The Secretariat Administration Branch ‘B’ Home department organised a one-day workshop on basic office procedures and etiquette for secretariat office peons and multi-tasking staff (MTS) on Tuesday at the secretariat conference hall, Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, additional secretary, Home, Shayung Phom, exhorted the trainees on the occasion, emphasising the important role they play in the working system of the department and urging them to perform their assigned duties diligently.
He also insisted on maintaining good working relationships with the officers so that the day-to-day operations of the office could run smoothly and effectively.
He lauded the Home department officials for organising the much-needed workshop, which, he said, was long overdue, and expressed hope that the training would help the trainees perform better.
The workshop’s resource persons were under secretary Rhonthungo Andreas, additional state protocol officer, and joint secretary Neikedoulie.
The topics covered during the training included, among others, conduct rules, leave rules, and office etiquette, and certificates were given to all workshop participants.
