Dimapur, Dec. 21: Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) celebrated pre-Christmas on December 20 at the Directorate, Kohima.
Dr. L.Watikala, principal director H&FW in her Christmas greetings she said that God sent His son Jesus to this world with a purpose to save mankind. She reminded the department that every individual was born to this world with a purpose and responsibility. She further challenged the gathering as to how far we realize that very purpose and urged the officers and staff to be more sincere in their duties.
Dr. Rose Chakhesang in her message said “let Jesus be born in our hearts during this Christmas regardless of positions and status and let Jesus be the centre of our lives everyday”.
The program was chaired by Dr. Bendangla, joint director RCH, scripture reading and invocation by C H Henia, joint director of Nursing and benediction was pronounced by Dr. Sao Tunyi. Christmas special numbers were presented by officers and staff of NHM and Benthungo Humtsoe, NSACS respectively.
In a similar programme, 36 Assam Rifles organise a picnic for students of Government High School (GHS), Jalukie and Athibung as part of pre-christmas celebrations at Athibung. A total of 200 students who attended the celebration particpated in games.
