The governor wants civil society and organizations to check corruption in the “government system” of the state.”
He stated so during a visit from a local organization. The new team of the Angami Public Organization (APO) on January 20 called on Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya at the Raj Bhavan.
The APO leaders expressed hope that the governor would guide and act in all affairs for the benefit of the common people. The governor welcomed the APO and shared his views on the issues of Naga political negotiations and on the current political situation in the state.
Acharya said that the Naga issue was protracted over 50 years and negotiations have been prolonged for 17 years. He felt that there was a need for transparency in the talks and should involve the public organizations
The governor also impressed upon the APO that civil organizations should take pro-active roles in combating corruption in the “government system” of the state.
