Forerunners’ beat 10-men Addax 3-2

Kohima, August 29 (EMN): Forerunners’ FC came from behind to beat 10-men Addax FC 3-2 in the last round of the Kohima Football League at Kohima local ground on Tuesday.
With the win, Forerunners’ ended the season ahead of Nagabazar FC and Addax FC with 8 points in the 5th place of the league table. While Addax FC with 6 points from 7 matches slipped to 7th place with their fourth consecutive defeat in the league.
Avilie’s goal in the 81st minute was enough for Forerunners to seal victory over Addax after Kenneth was sent off in the 34th minute for an intentional handball inside the D-box area.
Addax started brightly and opened their account in the 21st minute through Keviphretuo. Forerunner goalie Kehrie gifted the second goal to Addax after his goalkeeping error helped Shiirhosul tap-in the goal in the 34th minutes to make it 2-0.
But the red card for Kenneth gave the Forerunners’ side the upper hand as skipper Seyiekhrietuo converted the resultant penalty in the 35th minute to make it 2-1 in the first half.
Addax didn’t stop attacking in the second half but Razouvituo Tsukru pulled back the equalizer in the 64th minute for Forerunners’ as Mhaletuo latched onto a long pass and directed it into Razouvituo path for the latter to coolly convert it.
With just nine minutes remaining, Avilie scored the winner in the 81st minute for Forerunners’. Keneinguzo of Forerunners’ FC was cautioned during the match. Metekhrielie Mejura, the treasurer of Angami Youth Organization (AYO) was the match patron of the day.
