First snooker ranking tournament concludes with ‘Champion of Champions’

Kohima, April 12 (EMN): Cue Association of Nagaland (CAN) concluded its snooker ranking tournament season one at Club 147 in Kohima on April 10.

The first season of the snooker tournament included three competitions, which were held at different clubs. The first game commenced from Club Area 51 in Kohima during 2019 followed by the second at Boulevard Club in 2020.

In the final competition dubbed, “Champion of Champions,” which commenced from April 7 to the 10th, Kezhavitio Vizo of Club 147 emerged as champion while Atuyito Zhimo of Club Area 51 was adjudged the runner-up.

Winner of the game, Vizo received INR 15,000 while Zhimo received INR 7,000 and a bonus of INR 4,000 for securing the highest break point.

Meanwhile, Tongpangkokba Longchar of Atou Snooker Club was declared overall champion of the snooker ranking tournament and received INR 20,000 with running trophy while Kezhavitio Vizo won a INR 10,000 along with a trophy being placed in the second position.

Both Neidilhou Neikha of Club Area 51 and Sabi Anar of Baulkine Club who secured semi-final positions also received INR 2,000 each with citations.

Yanger Temjen, president of CAN and Neidilhou Suohu, advisor of CAN distributed cash awards and citations to the winners and semi-finalists during the closing ceremony.

Altogether, 29 players from Club Area 51, Q’ Lounge Club, Baulkine Club, Atou Snooker Club and Club 147 in Kohima while Dimapur’s lone Boulevard Club took part in the tournament which began in 2019.
