SAMETI Medziphema has organized a training on biological control of pest and disease in agriculture for ATMA functionaries and extension workers on May 29 and 30 at SAMETI training hall, Medziphema.
Altogether 22 ATMA functionaries and extension workers of Agri and allied department from various districts have participated in the training. The trainees were imparted technical knowledge on importance of bio agents and its impact on agriculture; importance of bio pesticides and their uses in agriculture; ITKs and its application under local conditions; home made bio formulation for disease and pest control and visit to Bio Control Laboratory for practical demonstration.
The resource persons were Dr. Imtionen, Agriculture Office of Bio Control Laboratory, and Lawrence, Agriculture Officer of Bio Control Laboratory, Medziphema.
In the valedictory function, Director of SAMETI and Principal IETC, Medziphema, Nguzonyi Wetsah gave away certificates to the participants.
