ENPO reaffirms on Tuensang peace summit

Dimapur, April 13 (EMN): Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) and the Eastern Naga national workers from different political groups have unanimously resolved and reaffirmed to uphold the December 18, 2007, Tuensang historical summit resolution in all seriousness and continue to remain loyalty to the affirmation in the interest of peace and unity of the people of Eastern Nagaland in particular and the Nagas in general.
The resolution to this effect was taken at the joint consultative meeting of the ENPO Central Executive Council (CEC) and Eastern Naga national workers from different Naga political groups at Tsithrongse village on April 11 and at Hotel Acacia, Dimapur, on April 12 respectively.
Besides CEC members, advisors, senior citizens, members from 6 federating tribal units, frontal organisations, huge number of public attended the two- day meeting wherein they shared solidarity towards ENPO’s initiative for peace and unity.
Besides other resolutions, ENPO resolved to celebrate “the ENPO Peace” tentatively in the last part of October this year coinciding with the ENPO general session.
It is to be stated that, a historic summit was officially convened by ENPO on December 18, 2007, at Tuensang headquarters where, amongst other resolutions, the house resolved that there should be no bloodshed, threats, intimidation or any form of violence within ENPO jurisdiction. Further, the ENPO also expressed its gratitude to all members who made the two-day ENPO meet a grand success.
