Come June 21, Dimapur is set for the 4th World Music Day dubbed ‘The Sound Garden’ at ‘The Garden’ at Supermarket in Dimapur. This was announced by a team of local artists to media persons on Thursday June 16 at the hangout Republic of Hiyo.
World Music Day is a day of free music, during which professional and amateur musicians alike perform, encouraging each other to perform in public spaces without restriction. The Sound Garden will open its gates at 3 pm. A jam session with music students of Hills Praise Music Academy, Note Grid School, Mountain Music Academy and School of Nerds, besides performing artists will be participating.
This is not all: The Sound Garden will entertain Dimapurians with Karaoke and busking from 6 pm to 7 pm with the main performers taking the stage at 7 pm. The music event is being organized by local musicians in Dimapur in collaboration with Rockstar Entertainment International private limited.
The performing artists lined up for the big day are Moanungsang, Akummika, Colored Keys, Papersky, James Basnet, Jonathan Yhome, Incipit, Thunglamo, Ronnie, Renbeni and Gearmen Dudes.
The Nagaland music community lost a member recently, the upcoming singer Lamstala H Odyuo earlier this month. The Sound Garden will pay its tribute to her. The year’s main purpose in celebrating World Music Day is to celebrate her life and music,’ said artists at the press conference.

With a day of free music in a friendly environment, it will be a day to celebrate what we love and join the rest of the world in commemorating it meaningfully.
