DC Zunheboto imposes restrictions ahead of polls

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Election Officer (DEO), Zunheboto, Rahul Bhanudas Mali, has prohibited an assembly of five or more persons and vehicular movement of non-essential nature from 4 pm on April 17 to 5 pm on April 19.

According to a DIPR report, this prohibition will be effective in the areas comprising 31 Akuluto AC, 32 Atoizu AC, 33 Suruhoto AC, 34 Aghunato AC, 35 Zunheboto AC, and 36 Satakha AC under Zunheboto district.

Additionally, in the area of the DC office complex and within 100 metres of its vicinity, including the Zunheboto public ground, the assembly of five or more persons shall be prohibited at all times until further orders. However, this restriction does not apply to house-to-house visits during the 48-hour period in connection with door-to-door campaigning.

Officials and staff of the district administration, security personnel, magistrates on duty, medical personnel, and individuals engaged in election duty or essential services shall be exempted from these restrictions.

Also, all movements of commercial vehicles (for goods or passengers) or vehicles carrying essential commodities, as well as those of the press and media, telecom services, and medical emergencies, shall also be exempted from the aforementioned restrictions.
