CYE Thenyizumi Baptist Church celebrates golden jubilee
DIMAPUR — The three-day golden jubilee celebration of Christian Youth Endeavour (CYE), Thenyizumi Baptist Church, which was underway at Thenyizu village under Phek district, themed ‘Alive in Christ’ concluded on Sunday.
According to a press release, the speakers for the celebration were Rev. Dr. Suluveyi Rhakho, coordinator of Globe Server International in Minneapolis, USA, and Rev. Vemüriyi Vadeo, pastor of Naga Christian Fellowship in Shillong.
Their messages covered topics such as living in Christ, unwavering truths in a changing world, challenges and opportunities for modern youth, hope amid uncertainty, presenting Christ in today’s world, and the youth’s mission.
In his speeches, Rhakho emphasised the importance of sharing the jubilee blessings, fostering unity, love, and a renewed commitment to the Christian journey. He stressed the value of cheerful giving and encouraged the youth to share God’s message in their own unique ways. He noted that spreading love and the Gospel of Christ define one’s faith beyond mere membership or attendance.
Exploring the significance of a strong work ethic among young people and noting the abundant opportunities presented by technological advancements, he urged them to actively seek employment rather than passively wait for it.
According to the convenor of the jubilee committee, Selakhoyi Kapuh, the celebration was a significant occasion worthy of a grand celebration, allowing for reflection on 50 years of God’s grace, blessings, and the unwavering spirit within their Christian journey. He emphasised the importance of coming together as one family, expressing faith and gratitude for the Lord’s guidance.
During the celebration, a monolith was dedicated by Vekhutso Resu, while a jubilee souvenir was released by Vesakho Thisa, the director of the Children and Education department of Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC).
