Dimapur, June 26: The Balijan Youth Club organised the 7th Summer Cup Cricket Tournament on Sunday at Balijan (A), near Forest Check Gate, Karbi Along in Assam under the club motto ‘Empower youth, build the nation’. According to a press release, the event was supported by Kiran Sports, United Sports and Balaji Marbles.
State Bank of India (SBI) Branch Manager, Khatkhati, Neeraj Skukla graced the occasion as the chief quest. Shukla reminded the players that cricket is a gentlemen’s game. He also urged the youth to bring positive development towards the society. Skukla encouraged them to channelize their positive energy and inculcate team spirit to become a driving force to fight against corruption, illiteracy and poverty in the region. In the first day, the tournament witness a match played between the NCCC, Dimapur and Brothers XI cricket club, Karbi Anglong.
