Covid-19 Rice-for-Needy: 154 households in Tuensang helped

Dimapur, April 10 (EMN): Under the mission ‘Covid-19 Rice-for-Needy’, Shamator Chamber of Commerce (CoC) in Tuensang district distributed a total of 1497 kg of rice to 154 households in all the wards and colony in Shamator town.

The rice distribution was undertaken through contribution of the additional deputy commissioner, Shamator, Lankonen Tsanglao who donated INR 10,000 as well as 11 quintal of rice contribution from CoC.

CoC president Thsantong and general secretary Bensokiu stated that the first phase of rice distribution programme was organised on April 6 and the 7th. They added that the organisation is planning to reach out to stranded students in its next phase.

The organisation further appealed to the public and well-wishers to come forward and contribute towards the ‘Covid-19 Rice-for-Needy’ mission.

Meanwhile, CoC has thanked the ADC Shamator for his contribution as well as giving 45% subsidy per kg in procuring rice.
