CNTC welcomes home SC Jamir

Dimapur, March 29 (EMN): The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) welcomes Dr. SC Jamir, who has returned home after completing his assignment as governor of various state in India.
The CNTC’s media cell termed Dr. SC Jamir ‘one of the greatest living statesmen and a stalwart of politics amongst the Nagas, whose immense contribution’ in the state and national politics is truly worthy of praise.
A note from the council stated that Dr. SC Jamir was the only surviving member of the signatories of the 16-Point Agreement and a ‘living legend of Naga politics, whose extraordinary calibre and excellent statesmanship had made a mark in every field of political territory he charted through.’
Stating that his return was a moment to be cherished, the organisation has urged Jamir to ‘use his wisdom and vast experience in bringing about peace acceptable to all sections of Naga people.’ The CNTC also wished him good health and long life.
Also, the CNTC mourned the demise of Sakulemba, one of the ‘earliest pioneers’ of Dimapur town. His service to the citizens was noteworthy and would be remembered always, the council stated. The group has conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and peace for the departed soul.
