Centre approves revision of dealer’s margin

Dimapur, March 29 (EMN): The government of India has approved the revision for dealer’s margin to INR 354 per metric tonne for all dealers and distributors for the sale. The information was stated in a press release from the Press Information Bureau on March 29.
According to the report, the revised rate will be made effective from April 1. The margin will be paid to dealers on the quantity sold through ‘point of sale’ devices only.
The press release stated that private and cooperative agencies are presently being paid INR 180 for every metric tonne for sales through private trade and INR 200 for every metric tonne for sales through institutional agencies in accordance with the notification dated June 18 1999. The decision for implementation Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in the fertilizer sectors were raised by dealers and fertilizer companies to ensure financial viability of dealers, it was informed.
Around 23,000 dealers and distributors across the country are likely to find benefit from the decision which would enhance their financial viability through DBT implementation. This step will entail an additional subsidy burden of INR 515.16 crore per annum on the Government, the information added.
