Kohima, Jan. 10 (EMN): Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches (CCRC) undertook its golden jubilee proclamation rally on January 9 from Trinitarian Spot Gariphema, the birthplace of Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC) in Kohima.

An update from the media and publicity committee of the CCRC golden jubilee committee informed that the event was organised coinciding with NCRC foundation day. The rally was flagged-off by Rev. Thekruzhü Khana, pastor of NCRC Gariphema and culminated at CCRC Mission Centre in Chetheba under Phek district.

During the programme at Gariphema village, Rev. Zhowhuyi Nyekha, senior pastor and chairman of CCCRC coordination board, recounted the movement among the people during its formative years wherein the Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC) came into being on January 9, 1962.

A pioneer leader himself in the revival movement, Rev. Nyekha also highlighted briefly how the Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches also came into being and formed the council in 1973.

Meanwhile, Rev. Thekruzhü Khana, pastor of NCRC Gariphema, related the manifestation of God’s work through the movement during the darkest period of the Naga political movement. He added that NCRC was formed through tears and prayers anointed by the Holy Spirit and exhorted the people to upkeep the tenets of faith.

A speech was also delivered by Dr. Chekhwuveyi Khusoh, secretary of organising committee, wherein he invited the gathering to participate in the main jubilee celebration scheduled later in the month of September.

The programme was chaired by Rev. Z David Koza, executive secretary of CCRC, while a short speech was delivered by the chairman of Chakhesang CRC Council, Vesatso Tetseo.

The rally participants later proceeded to NCRC Chesezu in Phek district, the first Christian Revival Church among the Chakhesang, wherein a prayer service was led by Solhou Sono, pastor and vice chairman of CCRCC. A brief history of CCRC was presented by Rev. Sanyi Nyekha.

During the culmination service, the chairman of Chakhesang CRC Council, Vesatso Tetseo, highlighted on the changes brought about with the advent of Christianity. He further challenged the participants to spread the love of Christ as a member of Christian Revival Church by igniting the movement of the Holy Spirit with devotion and dedication.

Meanwhile, Kühusayi Nyekha, chairman of golden jubilee organising committee, expressed gratitude to NCRC Gariphema for their act of pronouncing parental blessings upon the Chakhesang CRC, hospitality, logistics and their generosity rendered towards the jubilee celebration. He also thanked the CRC Billy Graham Road; Chesezu CRC; and Mission Centre Chetheba for their logistic supports.
