BJP Nagaland officials conclude statewide tour

DIMAPUR — Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland unit president, Benjamin Yepthomi, undertook a tour of all 16 districts just weeks after taking the reins of the saffron party in the state in September this year.

The three-week district touring programme, which started in Mon on October 28, culminated on November 17 with a grand reception organised by BJP Dimapur district at Hotel Saramati. The party chief was accompanied by other state office bearers, informed an update from media officer of the BJP leader.

‘The state unit party chief has exhibited a true sense of zeal and enthusiasm to expand the party in Nagaland State by travelling the length and breadth of the state to garner support and build friendship while connecting with the people at the grassroots and re-strengthening the booth-level committees as his top priority,’ read the update.

It said the party chief and his team toured Mon, Aboi, Longleng, Tuensang, Noklak, Shamator, Kipheri, Meluri, Phek, Zunheboto, Mokokchung, Wokha, Kohima, Jalukie, Tening and Dimapur and had a series of intensive meetings with the district office bearers, mandals, morchas and booth-level officials.

It was the first time in the history of BJP Nagaland that its chief extensively toured all the districts to reach out to the people of the state, said the update.

During the culmination programme of the statewide tour in Dimapur, Yepthomi said the exercise was initiated to know and identify the ground realities as well as understand the grievances of all the districts, 60 mandals and at the booth levels.

“A time has come for us to work with all sincerity and commitment to uphold the Bharatiya Janata Party from the grassroots level to the State level as our top priority,” he said while calling upon all the karyakartas to extend full cooperation to the respective district presidents for the growth of the party. He also thanked the all the karyakartas of BJP Nagaland for the warm reception extended to his team during the tour, and the deputy chief minister and BLP Leader Y Patton for his constant support.
