[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he international criticism on the extremism of Hinduism activists persecuting Christians in India under the active protection of BJP Govt. has not become a deterrent. The recent publication of Annual Report of Amnesty International has indicted BJP Govt. for human right violations by its right wing fanatics. The BJP and its cohorts did not spare Father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi whose philosophy of nonviolence was acclaimed world over. He was not the Father only of Indian nation but was one of the tallest nation builders in the world.The world leaders used to venerate him and treasure his philosophies on humanity. The most recent being the President of America Barak Obama’s reference to Gandhiji’s secular ethos vis-a-vis Hindu extremism in India. On the contrary, the BJP allows its MPs and its right wing activists to rampantly batter Gandhiji as they wished. BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj branded Nathuram Godse, the killer of Mahatma Gandhi, as the national patriot. The Hindu Mahasabha calls Nathuram Godse as ‘martyr’ and is now trying to install Godse’s statue at Ambala and in several places in memory of his bravery.The second victim of the same BJP workers is Mother Teresa, the true altruist. A devoted Christian who came to India from a foreign land to look after the poor and needy. She was an extraordinary woman who
discarded her comfort and suffered for others. Throughout her life, she worked with the destitute. Her devotion and relentless dedication to the welfare of the downtrodden was unmatched and recognized by the world. Accordingly, she was awarded Nobel Prize.
Whereas, Mohan Bhagwat, the chief of RSS has recently undermined Mother Teresa and accused her for being responsible for conversion of Hindus to Christianity. I am sure and I believe that Mother was responsible for bringing many people to Jesus Christ not because of her words but by her deeds out of love and compassion. Those converts, perhaps, failed to find equality, respect, recognition and love in their religion. Those converts were the destitute because there were the suppressed lot under the existing system of caste by which they are destined to remain as second to higher castes. Under the system, the lower castes can never have life promotion but to be contented in caste dungeon no matter how potential one may be. Under such system, a low caste is cursed at birth and die in curse. The recent instance, the caste system forced the bereaved families to throw their dead in a channel of Ganga river in Unnao district in UP to the tune of 104 dead bodies at a time during the middle of January, 2015.
It is easy to be critic of Gandhiji or of Mother Teresa. But it is not easy for those critics to become like them. Not to speak of acting like them but those critics lack potentiality and capability to understand the philosophies of these great human beings. A columnist,Jagdamba Mall has undermined Mother Teresa as “nothing noble about the Nobel awarded to Mother Teresa”. Well, the world recognizes and upholds the decision of those who select the awardees of Nobel Prize.
If Jagdamba considers himself to be wiser than those, let him enjoy in his dream world. It is absolutely absurd to blackmail the most revered Mother Teresa by Jagdamba as ‘so-called Mother’, ‘acted as an umbrella to conspiracies hatched by the Church’. ‘The service projects, hospitals and missionary schools are conversion carriers and breeding centres of Church sponsored Christian terrorism.’ Such hate and incendiary accusations against Christianity in India are but without basis and nothing more than figment of his imagination and racial divide. Your attempts to belittle Mother Teresa is futile. Nothing of such attempt can diminish her popularity. Yet, is injurious to the health of national integrity.
Jagdamba has also seriously accused ‘the Church in Nagaland’….to be ‘the shelter place to terrorists’ and ‘also acts as Coordinating Agency between various terrorist groups and subversive organisations.’
It is imperative for the Church to challenge Jagdamba to substantiate
his allegations.
Why people like BJP MP Sakshi Maharaj, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat,columnist Jagdamaba, etc. are so allergic to conversion of Hindus to Christianity? Rather understand the ground reality. The Christians and the Brahmins assisted by the Hinduisms zealots have the same agenda overtly and covertly. Overtly in the sense that Christians, as per Commission, look for more people to be converted into Christianity.
Covertly in the sense, meanwhile, those Hindu fanatics by their culture and tradition of caste system repel the Hindus of low caste to join Christian fold. The agenda is one- Christians want people and the Hindu fanatics discriminate and oppress fellow Hindus on the basis of caste which forces more Hindus to desert. After all, what is better than equality and classlessness in a society, that is Christianity.
Hinduism, because of its fanaticism, will continue to harvest diminishing returns despite of coerced conversions and giving award to a Hindu family having many children. As it is, how hard the BJP workers and Hinduism ideologues are trying to decimate the Christian growth in India it will never be successful except the boomerang.
