Avoid negative attitude for State to develop: Azo

State minister for Roads & Bridges (R&B), Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, has made a fervent appeal to the Naga public to rid of negative attitude but coherently work in unison with the programmes and policies of the State government to usher in further development in the State.
Commissioning the newly constructed 60 meter span Chathe River Bridge on June 14, the minister, while reacting to the past negative criticism against the DAN government, affirmed that there was a success story in every ribbon cutting ceremony.
‘If the government gets to cut a ribbon every day or every week, Nagaland would be well ahead in development as such event indicated work getting done,’ the minister pointed out.
While welcoming constructive criticism, the minister was of the opinion that it should not be done with the intent to malign government or any individual’s image.
The R&B minister also expressed happiness over the positive attitude of Naga contractors stating: ‘the positive trend was a welcoming one as they have started delivering’.
Past work programmes had been affected owing to the incapacity of contractors to finish work as per schedule when payments get delayed. However, the new generation contractors have inculcated moral responsibility to complete their assign works even if their payments get delayed, he informed.
The minister hoped that the present trend would continue to up states infrastructural needs so that the state can grow with the rest of the country in development.
The minister also sought cooperation from the public towards all contractors working sincerely in their respective areas so that they get motivated to deliver better service.
On the Kohima-Dimapur national highway, the minister in a clear message pointed out that the department was wrongly implicated stating that the road does not belong to R&B department.
While acknowledging the need to speed up resurfacing, the minister urge the public to restrain from any negative criticism stating the BRTF would be responsible for the road and he further assured that the work would be done by next year.
Azo said the new commander has just taken over charge and been in touch with the department for early completion of Kohima-Dimapur stretch.
The minister has appreciated the General Manager of NABARD for funding towards construction of the bridge and further urged to continue supporting the State even in the days to come. The General Manager, NABARD, was present to witness the inauguration of the bridge.
Parliamentary Secretary for Urban Development, Zaleo Rio, has expressed happiness stating that the long felt need for the people of the area has been realized. Appreciating minister for R&B, he hoped that the minister would continue in assisting the people of Ghaspani II in various development projects for the welfare of the locals of the area.
The minister was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretaries, Zaleo Rio, and Tovihoto Ayemi, Chief Engineer of R&B, Er. D Mero, and host of officers, representatives from NCSU and public leaders.
