DIPHU — Governor of Assam, Gulab Chand Kataria, on Thursday, visited Diphu, the headquarters of the twin hills districts of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong.
The Governor was received by Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Chief Executive Member (CEM), Tuliram Ronghang; MP Horensing; MLAs Bidyasing Engleng and Dorsing Ronghang; and DC, Karbi Anglong, Madhumita Bhagawati; ACS and SP, Karbi Anglong, Sanjib Kumar Saikia.
Upon arrival, a meeting was held with the elected members of KAAC including bureaucrats at the conference hall of Arboretum cum Craft Centre, Matipung, to discuss the various developmental works executed by the 30 departments under KAAC jurisdiction.
Soon after the meeting, an interaction with the media persons was held where the governor said that the main purpose of his visit was to monitor the state and central-sponsored schemes of the developmental works which have been executed in the autonomous region and to interact with beneficiaries of various schemes which have been implemented.
