Asetkong Senden Mokokchung Town celebrates golden jubilee

Mokokchung, Feb. 6 (EMN): The Asetkong Senden Mokokchung Town (ASMT) celebrated its Golden Jubilee on the theme, “Jungyitenshi” at Town Hall, Mokokchung on Thursday.

The main speaker of the event, Rev. Dr. A Tali Ao, associate professor of CTC, Aolijen, asserted that there is no future without forgiveness and told the gathering that “to forgive” should be the slogan for the ASMT if they want to march ahead.

Reminding the members that ASMT was founded not only for the benefit of the Asetkong range but also for the Naga people as a whole, he advised ASMT to remain apolitical and prevent politics from interfering in their “affairs”.

He called upon the people of the range to ponder and seriously deliberate on ways benefit the people by ushering peace and unity in the Naga society. He added that the people need “visionary leaders to shield us and to let the society forward”.

‘The shield and the users who wield the shield should be in perfect harmony to shield us from negativity, but before wielding the shield, we should check its weakness and strengthen it so that it does not shatter in the battle,’ he said.

Jubilee songs were presented by Longpa Senso Telongjem Mokokchung Town and Longjang Senso Telongjem Mokokchung Town. Dr. JT Walling, former president ASMT, released the jubilee souvenir.
