Shamator battalion of the Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North)/ HQ 7 Sector distributed wheelchairs to the old and specially-abled villagers at CHC Shamator on February 1.
A defence release stated that wheelchairs were donated to the old and specially abled persons in a simple ceremony at the community health centre.
It stated that the Shamator battalion, true to the motto ‘Friends of Hill People,’ has always made an earnest endeavour to help and support the needy, especially in the remote part of Nagaland.
The initiative and commitment of the Assam Rifles was appreciated by the medical officer in-charge of CHC, Shamator. He also expressed gratitude to the battalion for their kind gesture.
