AR conducts free medical camps and other activities

Dimapur, July 10 (EMN): Considering the need to have basic infrastructure for organising social gatherings at Chingnyu, a remote village in Mon district and bordering Myanmar, the Shamatore Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) has constructed a community hall for the people of the village.

The residents of the villages have expressed gratefulness for the gesture, informed an update from PRO, HQ IGAR (N).

Free medical camps

Mokokchung Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a medical camp at Akuhaiqa village on July 7 with an aim to provide free medical consultation and treatment for minor ailments to the local residents who were devoid of requisite medical facilities, especially the aged.

Apart from providing medical, Covid-19 related assistance and awareness on monsoon-related ailments and precautions were imparted to the people.

The Mokokchung Battalion of AR also provided similar services to the people of Yisemyang village in Mokokchung, while the Zunheboto Battalion treated 205 patients, including 114 male, 71 female and 20 children at a medical camp on July 8.

Umbrella campaign

As part of the initiative by the Assam Rifles in reaching out to the needy residing in remote villages, Jalukie Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) organised an ‘Umbrella Campaign’ on July 8.

Umbrellas were distributed to the physically challenged, widows and the elderly besides encouraging the people to strictly adhere to restrictions related to Covid-19.
